Rag & Famish Hotel 18ft Skiff Racing

The Rag & Famish Hotel has been sponsoring an 18 foot skiff, Rag & Famish Hotel, for well over a decade. The skiff races out of the Australian 18 Footers League at Double Bay, competing in the clubs annual regattas and championships from October through April.
Co sponsored by Coopers,
The Rag skiff racing team has been highly successful, winning and placing in the top 3 in numerous championships including taking out the highly coveted JJ Giltinan Trophy in 2001 and finishing 3rd in 2007 and 2nd in 2013.

This season sees a new boat and very different look for newly named Coopers 62 Rag & Famish skiff and skipper Jack Macartney is very excited about the prospects for the team.
After gaining a lot of confidence and knowledge from last season, Jack says they are setting themselves up for a big year

This season Mark Kennedy returns as does Peter Harris after a season on another boat.

Text Box: Close Finish to Close the Season
In great sailing conditions of 8 to 10 knot breeze, the season came to a great finish with Thulow Fisher just pipping The Rag by 1 second in Race 11 of the Club Championship. The two boats were close racing all afternoon giving spectators a great display.
The 2nd placing means The Rag finished 3rd overall in the Club Championship, thanks to Jack & the crew for a great season.
Now the boats and dreams are packed away until October when another season gets underway.
We thank and commend the Australian 18 Footers League for running yet another sensational season of racing and keeping us all in touch with results and great photos from Frank.
